Meet April Ronay

A write-in candidate with deep roots in Long Beach, dedicated to building a city where every family thrives through compassion, equity, and action.

April Ronay has spent twenty plus years at the intersection of education, storytelling, and equity. As an author and advocate, she has tirelessly championed the needs of children and women, fostering environments where community and nature heal together. Her leadership is defined by a commitment to resilient systems that leave no one behind.

In her career locally, April led the charge for legislative milestones like Bill AB 2105, ensuring medical insurance coverage for children requiring specialized neuroimmune care. This win was more than a policy shift. It was a testament to what is possible when community voices are heard at the highest levels of government.

Now, she is running for Mayor to bring that same legislative grit and community-focused heart to City Hall. Her vision for Long Beach is rooted in practical equity: safe schools, accessible healthcare, and thriving local economies that reflect the diversity and strength of our people. Write in April Ronay for a future we build together.

From spearheading insurance expansion for neuroimmune care to managing large-scale community school initiatives, she has proven that professional expertise and human-centered design can, and must, go hand-in-hand.

April believes that the role of Mayor is one of stewardship. Her vision for Long Beach is a city where every child feels they belong, every entrepreneur has a seat at the table, and the natural beauty of our coastline is protected for generations. It’s a vision rooted in active listening and a commitment to action.

As a write-in candidate, April is running a campaign that bypasses traditional political barriers, speaking directly to the hearts of the community. She is ready to lead with the same heart, grit, and transparency she has brought to every role in her career, ensuring that our city's future is as inclusive as its spirit.
